03.17.11
I had a portfolio review with Hannah Price (http://hannahcprice.com/index.html) back when she visited RIT as a speaker in January. Hannah was really helpful in pointing me towards work that was similar to mine but took things a step further. One of the photographers she introduced me to was Nikki Graziano (http://www.nikkigraziano.com/.) Her Found Functions series was particularly interesting to me (I loved math in high school and miss it now.) I see a series in the future (especially using the bottom image and possibly rephotographing the top image) doing a spin on what she's doing, though I'm not ready to give too many details since I haven't figured out how I want to tie in math with another idea I have. I have a feeling this could be some of my strongest work yet if I can get the concepts down.

Shooting landscapes in Walmart. I could see this being a series, shooting landscapes within different stores.

Took this just because there were so many dogs in Rochester today for the parade. Didn't even realize the cat right next to it until I was looking through my images later.

03.11.11
I've been interested in shooting homes and buildings a lot over the past 6 months, especially due to viewing work such as Todd Hido's. Compared to my first image (which is more Hido inspired), I'm much happier with the second image I made. I love photographing the struggle between humans and nature, and I think this is one of the more subtle images of this that I have taken.
Change
I've been getting bored with the format of my blog lately. So I'm changing things up. I'm going to try to keep it a daily blog but am not going to strictly follow that. I also plan to start writing more, telling more about my thought processes and ideas behind projects and just general thoughts while shooting. With this change also comes a new blog name "Light Is Life."
